Child and Adolescent Development

Our Child and Adolescent Development training is designed for first responders, law enforcement officers, juvenile justice professionals, and other professionals who work with youth involved in crisis, conflict, or the juvenile justice system. This training provides an understanding of how brain development, trauma, social influences, and developmental stages impact youth behavior, decision-making, impulse control, and responses to authority. Participants will learn how adolescent development differs from adult functioning, how trauma and adverse experiences influence behavior, and how to use developmentally appropriate approaches when interacting with youth. Through evidence-based strategies and real-world scenarios, this training equips professionals with tools to improve communication, de-escalate challenging situations, build rapport with youth, and make informed decisions that promote accountability, safety, and positive outcomes for children and adolescents.
